These devotionals were birthed out of a personal quest that ended up being shared with our church, Nara International Christian Center, in Ikoma, Japan.

Years ago I heard a life-changing phrase, “We become like who we worship,” followed by “Nearness brings likeness”. These two statements changed my whole spiritual outlook. My personal desire was to really grasp the character of God. So as I worshipped Him, I would be changed to become more like Him.

I believe the more we grasp His character we will also be able to trust more, our faith will be strengthened and hope becomes solid, almost tangible with the power of the knowledge of God’s eternal trustworthiness
